Holiday outings with little Miss Princess and Little Miss Grampy..

Headed down to Chinatown yesterday in anticipation of seeing the Chinese New Year (CNY) bazaar stalls already set up but I guess we could have been a week too early. There were no stalls selling the taiwan muah chee or other new year goodies! :( Hopefully it'll be up by next week but by then school would have reopened! Oh well, I guess I could try my luck on the first week of school since the first week is usually the 'housekeeping' week. Well despite the tiny disappointment of not being able to see the bazaar stalls, we managed to derive some fun factor out of posing like over enthusiastic tourists and took some CNY-themed photos there:

First up with Miss Princess..she finally has new shoes on;P

The chronicles of the two statue wanna-bes...
previously at the zoo...

And now at Chinatown...
Be it elephants or mice, we always make it a point to be part of the backdrop:P

.:the irony of a photo of three locals taken by a tourist:P :.

Anyway, there's something about what Miss Grampy said that reminded me of what I used to think. She said that she felt sad walking in Chinatown because the sight of so many elderly people and the fact that they were reaching the last days of their lives, made her sad. And I guess when she meant sad she was referring to those elderly who do not get to know Christ before they pass on. Well, I can understand why because she really regrets not having led her granny to Christ. Many times, it's not up to us to lead people to Christ, because God does the greatest job. We do the visible and tangible things on the outside by sharing the word and inviting them to church. We plant the seeds. But God provides the sunlight, fertilizer and water for the seedling to grow into a plant which bears fruits. He does the invisible but biggest job inside of them, in speaking to them, opening up their spiritual eyes, and stirring up their spirit man to hunger and thirst for more of Him. Perhaps that explains why in the scripture of John it says that no one can come to Jesus unless God the Father enables him and draws him in ( John 6: 44,65). And as much as we long to see our loved ones and friends come to know Jesus and receive Him, we must know that it is not by our own strength or will or human understanding that they come to know Christ but its by God's own timing and will. Hence, the message of 2008 being "Trust in the Lord in all you do and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknoledge Him and he will make your paths straight." Indeed, he'll make you a straight path that leads you all the way to heaven. All we have to do is to TRUST. It's time to stop taking things into our hands and holding on tightly to it and not letting go. Friends, it's time to LET GO, and LET GOD. :)
