Well, it's been some time since I came here to rant. These past two weeks have been a totally different experience for me. I have been having my weekends in the middle of the week and slogging my guts out while others are enjoying their sabbaticals. Well. I asked for it. The most agonizing thing is that I haven't got a single penny in salary yet.
Tution has been enjoyable though. Adeline was right. Teaching a bright kid is really a joy. Her name is Kermeu. Interesting name. By the way, I see in her a potential Rafflesian. Haha. She really likes to make a lot of noise during tution and talk to herself as she does her work. Perhaps that self-talking is also what makes her intelligent. Afterall, toddlers are also known to self-talk and apparently, it promotes the development of their language skills. Thank God for giving me courage and strength and teacher-wisdom to know what work to let her do. The first two lessons were pretty disastrous as I was at a loss as to what to teach her or let her do since she was already a Band 1 student( Gasp!). However, I managed to catch her weak points! Ha! And the rest is history. I am so looking forward to my FIRST pay! Woohoo!
As for the OTHER job at G2, well, it's less of a joy and more of a bane. Nevertheless, I think the presence of the store in-charge makes things less gloomy. She also has an interesting name. "See Wee". Just add in a 'd' and I get one of my favourite yong tau foo ingredient. Muahahaha..
Another interesting aspect of her is that she never wears make-up and wears the mens shirt. Hmm? Apparently, the story goes that she is too lazy to do herself up. I certainly hope that is the reason. Any other reason would be really disturbing. Well, other than the monotonous process of folding, hanging and climbing the shelves to retrieve 'new pieces', I have also been vacuuming and wiping mirrors and the glass panes. Well, I told myself at the start that I would not belittle the job. At first I really hated the fact that I had to vacuum and even had those 'xiao didi's' and senior staff telling me what I had to do and not do blah blah...it was indeed a humbling experience. But I guess there is never such a thing as a lousy job or whatsoever. Those xiao didi's and mei mei's have experience and are much more street-smart than I am! Hoho! And actually, they were all very helpful to me too. Well, right now, I just hope to open up communication barriers between me and the other sales people. Grace, I am almost in the same situation as you are in! I always find it easier to keep to myself and just do my thing and that's it. Sigh. But fact is, the job will be so much easier and happier if I talk more.TAlk more rach!
Well, tomorrow will be a better day! Jiayou Jiayou Jiayou! PIANO exam is also OVER! Woohooo!
